Crunchy Almond Caramel


Recipe was inspired from: Azlitamasammanis 

Ingredients:
2 cups almond flakes
2 cups florentine mix
1 cup pumpkin seeds
1/6 cup black sesame ( i didn't put this)

Directions:
1) Combine all ingredients together in a bowl 
2) Pour in a baking pan prepared with parchment sheet
3) Bake for 10 minutes with 160 degree Celsius
4) Once done, take out from the oven and cut it based on shape that you like

Resepi telah diolah dari :Azlitamasammanis  

Bahan-bahan:
2 cawan serpih almond
2 cawan campuran florentine
1 cawan biji labu
1/6 cawan bijan hitam (saya tak letak)

Cara-cara:
1) Gaul semua bahan dalam bekas
2) Tuang ke dalam dulang pembakar yang telah di alas kertas pembakar
3) Bakar selama 10 minit dengan kepanasan 160 Celsius
4) Setelah masak, keluarkan dari oven dan potong mengikut bentuk dikehendaki

Bubur Sum Sum


Pencuci mulut ini biasanya disediakan selepas majlis merewang kenduri kahwin orang keturunan Jawa d Johor. Biasanya selepas 2 atau 3 hari majlis perkahwinan selesai....Ia menjadi satu kemestian di kampung halaman saya dan bubur yang selalu saya tunggu sebab sedap... rasanya lemak manis.....

Bahan-bahan:

1 cawan tepung beras
2 1/2 cawan santan kelapa
sedikit garam
Daun pandan

Cara:

1. Satukan tepung dan garam dalm mangkuk
2. Masukkan santan dan kacau hingga larut
3. Masak adunan di atas api perlahan bersama daun pandan sehingga likat dan berkilat
4. Angkat dan sejukkan

Kuah

Bahan-bahan:

Gula melaka
Air
Daun pandan

Cara:

1. Panaskan air sehingga mendidih  bersama daun pandan
2. Masukkan gula melaka dan kacau hingga larut
3. Biarkan mendidih
4. Setelah mendidih, angkat dan tapis

Ketayap (Crepe roll with coconut filling) - Malay Traditional Dessert


Ingredients:

1 cups flour
1tbs tapioca flour
Salt (pinch)
Pandan leaves 
1 1/2 cups Water or Milk or Coconut Milk
Green coloring
1 egg (optional)
Oil

Directions:

1) In a small ball, whisk together flour, tapioca flour, salt
2) Blend/ Pound pandan leaves and with 1 1/2 cup of water and strained to remove the leaves
3) Add the pandan water to the dry ingredients
4) Add few dashes of green coloring to the batter
5) Heat medium size pan (non-stick), rub the pan with oil
6) For each crepe, spoon the batter and spread batter into a round, as thin as possible, buy not too thin. You can swirl the batter by moving the pan a little
7) Cook about 1 to 2 minutes, or until bottom slightly brown
8) Gently remove and place on plate
9) Put 1 - 2 tablespoons of coconut filling and fold the crepe to cover the filling


Coconut filling Ingredients:

Desiccated coconut
Brown sugar
Water

Directions:

1) In a wok, add water (about 2-3 cups), and add the brown sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolved
2) Add in desiccated coconut
3) Stir until the water dry and coconut is not watery

Kaswi - Traditional Malay Dessert


Ingredients:

1 cups flour
1 cups tapioca flour
3/4 cups brown sugar
3 cups water
1 tsp slaked lime water
Desiccated coconut 
Salt

Preparations;

1) Mix flour and tapioca flour
2) Add 2 cups of water to flour mix and stir to combine
3) Mix brown sugar and 1 cup of water until sugar dissolve
4) Add into flour mix
5) Add slaked lime into the batter
7) Pour into round/ square cake pan
6) Steam for about 20 to 30 minutes on boiling water until cook
7) Make sure it is completely before cutting
6) For the coconut, mix desiccated coconut with salt (to taste)
7) Serve kaswi with coconut

Stir-fry Watercress


Ingredients:

Garlic
Onion
Corn oil
Watercress
Oyster sauce
Salt
Sugar
Sesame oil (optional)

Preparations:

1) Cut the watercress, wash and dry 
2) Cut garlic and onion
3) Heat wok over medium heat and add oil
4) Stir fry garlic until brown, then add onion. 
5) Add oyster sauce, salt and pinch of sugar and stir until combine
6) Add watercress and and add salt to taste 
7) *Stir fry leave wilt and stems is soften but still bright green
8) Reduce heat and serve immediately

* If it is dry, you can add a bit of water

Marble Butter Cake


Original recipe taken from dzanariah and had adjusted the recipe a bit.

Ingredients:
125 gm dark chocolate 
125 gm butter
125 gm castor sugar - I'm using icing sugar
2 large egg
155 gm self raising flour
80 ml fresh milk
1/2 tsp vanilla essence

Steps:
1) Grease and line the round cake pan with baking paper and preheat the oven  with 160° C/180° C  
2) Melt dark chocolate in a pan with double boil technique
3) Cream butter, sugar with electric mixer with medium speed
4) Add egg 1 at a time, beating to combine and gradually add milk and vanilla essence
5) Gradually add flour and fold to combine
6) Divide the batter into 2 parts, mixed the chocolate into 1 of the batter. Now you have 2 types of batter; yellow and chocolate
7) Pour the batter into the baking pan, alternatively between yellow and chocolate batter until finish
8) Take any long skewer or knife or cake tester, then swirl around the batter 
9) Bake for 40 - 50 minutes or you can test it using cake tester

Percutian Mengejut... Cameron Highlands (Dec 24th - 25th, 2012)

Heeeeee.... Kenapa entry post nie percutian mengejut???? Ini kerana cuti-cuti  kali nie dibuat dalam masa 3 hari sebelum kami pergi... semuanya dirancang on the spot.. cari hotel everything.... kereta pun tak sempat nak hantar service.... sebab cuti hujung minggu tu merupakan cuti umum... Isnin dah nak pegi dah.... errmmm... memang tak dan nak service kereta.....


Cameron Highlands is one of my parents favourite place untuk bercuti... sebab udara dia sejuk dan tempat yang santai... however, lain kali pegi kena pegi bukan waktu cuti sekolah and working days.... The reason is percutian di musim sekolah memang menguji kesabaran, lagi2 kalau booking hotel at the very last minit... harga pun berganda dari biasa... Alhamdulillah... dapat jugak booking bilik kat Rosa Pasadena....for 1 double bed and 1 single bed.... the only room left masa tu... cekau jelah.... Satu lagi kesesakan yang teramat sangat kat atas.... hu hu hu....

Cuti kali nie pergi with my parents, my 2 nephews and youngest brother.... pemandu seperti biasa my brother.... Kali nie berkesempatan pegi MARDI.... last pergi masa tahun 1991 or 1992.....banyak yang dah berubah MARDI nie... rasa taman depan MARDI pun dulu lagi cantik..... compare ngan sekarang...

Abg pun nak pegang... Duh... pengsan Ayong...

Aktiviti lain seperti biasa... makan strawberry, fresh salad, beli teh di Cameron Valley etc... dan jugak lawat kebun bunga.... malam pulak aktiviti membeli di pasar malam.... kalau musim cuti sekolah pasar malam nie tetiap hari ada..... I've noticed, harga untuk sayur kebanyakkannya lebih mahal berbanding dulu.... my brother said.... kat TESCO lagi murah..... Komen yang sama heard from a chinese lady masa kat pasar sayur....


We only bought pucuk labu (yang nie agak sukar dapat kat bawah), water crest and also leek (Cameron punya, China punya kecik2 sikit).... lupa lak keledek sikit.... Dan juga beli sikit cenderahati untuk adik2 yang tak pegi... teh jelah untuk diaorg....

2012 Wrapped up....

Cheh tajuk 2012 wrapped up... dah macam update management team ngan financial year activities closure..... Takpe nie wrapped up untuk diri sendiri.... Nak buat down the memory lane sikit....

Alhamdulillah... Dah dekat sebulan dah kita menjejakkan kaki ke tahun 2013.... Pejam celik pejam celik masa berlalu tersangat pantas.....Meningkat lagi setahun umur... and hopefully apa yang diazamkan dan impian akan terlaksana... Insya-Allah...Lama betul tak update blog... tak tau apa nak update sebenarnya...

Sepanjang 2012, managed to plan vacation pendek ke 2 negara di ASEAN (Bangkok and Bandung)..... dan dalam negara je.... dan tahun ini juga dapat ada tambahan ahli keluarga.... my niece, kehilangan uncle (my fathernya abang). my youngest brother terlibat dalam kemalangan..... end up dapat 6 months MC... sambutan raya yang agak kelam kabut sebab my parents banyak kat KL jaga my brother and my sister (confinement)...... Kerjaya tak banyak berubah... cuma responsibility makin besar......

Tak banyak sangat peristiwa besar yang berlaku sepanjang tahun nie.... Azam untuk further study terbantut lagi.... bilalah nak start balik.... Hopefully it dapat materialise in 2013.... After all... 2012 will always be remembered as part of my canvas....ada corak tersendiri....
