Bandung, Indonesia - Part 2

Cont from Part 1...

Hari kedua lebih focus ke acara berjalan-jalan sekitar bandung.... Tempat pertama sudah tentu Gunung Tangkuban Parahu... Keluar hotel dalam pukul 9.00 am.... Jauh jugak rupanya tempat nie... Jalan pun bengkang-bengkok just like nak naik Cameron Highland.... tapi best sejuk.... Tangkuban Parahu nie sebenarnya gunung berapi yang dormant... last dia meletus tahun 1959.... Tapi masih ada lagi yang berasap kecik-kecik.... Sampai tempat nie je... bau sulfur agak kuat....Kalau berminat boleh hiking... ada package kalau nak turun dari main spot... But not for us... baju and kasut tak sesuai....

Nie permandangan dari observation deck... pondok? Nama Tangkuban Parahu nie mengambil sempena ngan legend kisah perahu terbalik..... bila seorang anak jatuh cinta dengan ibu kandung dia....For further info bolehlah click kat sini Wikipedia.

Akar kayu yang banyak dijual kat atas.... tak beranilah nak beli sebab tak tau apa fungsi akar kayu nie...

My frens beli jagung dan pulut bakar... teringin nak rasa.... pulut tu makan ngan kelapa dan gula... oklah rasa dia... biasa je.... Then... pegi ke ladang strawberry yang memang terkenal kat Bandung... But sadly no strawberry for self plucking activity.... We just bought over the counter....

Rasa dia biasa je... sama macam kat Cameron... Size dia tak boleh lawan strawberry kat Korea... rasa dia pun....

We headed to Kampung Daun for lunch... A bit pricey though.... But nice ambience, dine in little huts with the sound of water streaming and waterfall...

 Everybody busy diskusi apa nak makan... dah lah tak tau serving dia macamana... main order je...

 After lunch we headed for shopping extravagant..... No pictures taken..... sibuk shopping.... Today we went to factory outlet around Setiabudi Road e.g. Rumah Mode... Apalagi memborong baju lagi.... Especially my frens sebab size diaorg memang banyak... Malam lak apalagi sesi memanjakan diri di spa... Nie acara wajib bila ke Indonesia...

Hari ketiga takde apa sangat aktiviti... selain menyambung aktiviti shopping di factory outlet at Jalan Dago and also pergi Toko Tiga for original Levi's jeans... Factory for bags and also Donnatello shoes shop.... Dan yang penting sekali as must visit and buy.... brownies kukus dia Kartika Sari dan Amanda.... Ini mesti.... Bought few for my family.... Price wise.... Kartika Sari a bit pricey compared to Amanda.... But most people like Kartika Sari... I like Amanda more... Tapi ya ampun... ramainya orang kat Kartika Sari.... siapa cepat dia dapat... Tapi tempat kelaslah....

We left Bandung in the evening but sadly... sampai airport je... flight delay ke pukul 9.00pm.... And the best thing.... luggage overweight... ha ha ha nie penangan shopping kat Bandung.... not me kay.... my fren...

Bandung, Indonesia - Part 1

February 16th - 18th, 2012

Yeay... 1st vacation in 2012.... It was shopping trip for us... waiting badly for this trip since our last vacation in 2011.... Yalah... lama betul tunggu..... my last trip was with my family in Sept 2011 to Langkawi Island... Banyak dengar cerita dengar tentang shopping di Bandung... This is my chance to explore the town....

Okay... meh citer sikit pasal vacation budget nie.... flight tiket murah dan hotel pun budget hotel je.... Apa yang menarik di Bandung....1st and foremost is shopping....It is a shopping heaven for shopaholic.... Varieties of designs and lots of choices of cloths but sadly not much choice for me... since most of design only have M as their smallest size....mine either S or XS.... sob sob sob.... Help... please fly me to Korea again.....the shopping heaven for small and petite people like me..... 2nd thing that you must try is their food... Lain-lain tu tak payah pun takpe....

We arrived Bandung at about 9am on the 16th February. Sampai-sampai terus pergi Amaris Cihampelas to settlekan check in and book car for the next 2 days.... Then, we explored Cihampelas St which is nearby our hotel...

Cihampelas road is very famous with jeans... Price wise it is cheap but quality... can't complain much... what can you expect when get very cheap jeans (which popular here) and t'shirt... However, the road is very narrow and lots of car in this area... A little bit tiring and stuffy experience... For me nothing much to buy...

Along the road you can see statues of famous movie stars and superhero...

Then, we went to Cihampelas Walk (Ciwalk).... Sempat posing dulu sebelum makan.... lapar betul sebab dalam flight tak makan..

Inilah breakfast kami..... Not bad... sedap... but forgot to take picture of the shop...

Lepas dah isi perut... we went to Pasar Baru.... another shopping heaven in Bandung especially for women... So, my advice if you plan to come to Bandung, please bring enough money for shopping... but in Pasar Baru some shop do accept credit card... compared to Tanah Abang in Jakarta...

We spent almost a day here.... from 11.30 am until the complex closed at 5.30pm.... Tengoklah hasil shopping untuk satu hari dalam gambar kat atas.... Puas dah shopping... we went back to hotel for our next itinerary 'terjun'.... Sesi memanjakan rambut and manicure and pedicure at Brown Salon Ciwalk...milik Rudi Hadisuwarno... hair dresser terkenal di Indonesia... But sorry dear... no pictures taken... terlupa sebab sibuk buat rambut..... Here is Ciwalk at night...

1 year annivesary....May 17th, 2012

I didn't realise yesterday is 1 year anniverssary of this blog... time flies.... revamping my blog to give a new look and feel... Moving forward this blog will have various topics not only contain to recipe and travel...  And I will be writing in my national language, Malay or mixture....

Happy 1 year anniverssary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

Hoping god will give me more strength and ideas to keep on writing.....

Kam Heong chicken

Tried this recipe few weeks ago based on the recipe I found in the web... Nice flavour and smell... Here is the recipe;

For Chicken

Ingredients;

Chicken

White egg

Soy sauce

Salt

Pepper

Cornstarch

Preparations:

Marinate the chicken with white egg, soy sauce, salt, and pepper for a while at least an hour. Then, stir with cornstarch and fry it until golden brown.

Dry the chicken with kicthen towel.

For the sauce:

Garlic - chopped

Shallots – cut into chunks

Curry leaves

Dried shrimps – soak and finely chopped

Birds eye chilies, roughly chopped

Curry powder

Oyster sauce

Light soy sauce

Dark soy sauce

Water

sugar and salt to taste

Preparations;

1) Heat oil in a pan, and saute garlic and shallots until fragrant.

2) Add dried shrimps, bird eye chillies and curry powder - stir fry and then add curry leaves. Stir fry till fragrant

3) Add in the seasoning Oyster sauce, light and dark soy sauce and water. Simmer for few second.

4) Add sugar and salt to taste

5) Toss in chicken and mix until combine

6) Ready to serve
